Detailed Tutorial for Building Outdoor LED Displays
From the above introduction, we understand that outdoor LED displays have multiple installation types. Here, we’ll focus on the most complex pole-mounted installation to explain how to build an outdoor LED display from scratch.
Project Consultation
LED’s professional engineers will design the steel structure for the outdoor LED display based on the CAD drawings provided by the client. Of course, if the client does not have CAD drawings, they can consult us to obtain them.
After LED’s customer service team reviews the client’s drawings, usage environment, and screen size, they will develop the optimal outdoor LED display solution. This includes specifying the required number of LED display cabinets, LED video processors, square tubes, network cables, and other materials.
Once both parties confirm all details are accurate, the client pays a deposit. LED then initiates production based on the finalized LED solution. At this stage, the client can begin recruiting personnel for on-site construction.
Project Construction
Once the construction team is assembled, the process involves two steps. First, a professional crew uses excavators to dig the foundation holes for the outdoor column display. Second, welders assemble the square tubing to form the steel structure.
By the time the foundation is complete, the outdoor LED display panels will have been manufactured and delivered to the client. Construction personnel can then secure the welded steel structure to the prepared foundation. The received outdoor LED display cabinets are placed onto the lowest support poles and fastened with M10 screws.
Construction Precautions:
– Connection plates must align perfectly with cabinet mounting holes; otherwise, cabinets cannot be secured properly.
– Adjacent cabinets (left/right or top/bottom) must be positioned close together and fastened with M10 screws.
When installing the second row of outdoor LED display cabinets, first insert the positioning pins of the next row into the bottom alignment holes, then connect adjacent cabinets using the provided connectors.
After completing the entire outdoor LED display installation and plugging in all internal power and signal cables, proceed to turn on the power switch for the outdoor LED display and start the computer running the control software for the LED screen.
Project Testing
Within the LED control software, test the outdoor LED screen’s display quality, smoothness, and presence of dead pixels, bad pixels, or abnormal LED display modules using various playback formats.
After completing all troubleshooting steps, exit the LED control software and turn off the power if no issues are found. Should abnormalities arise during troubleshooting, contact us. LED will arrange for a professional LED display engineer to provide remote troubleshooting assistance.
Installation Precautions:
- During cabinet installation, ensure precise alignment of each cabinet. Misaligned cabinets will create more noticeable bulges on the screen. Additionally, gaps between misaligned cabinets may allow rainwater ingress.
- After installing the entire bottom row of cabinets, secure the screws before proceeding to install subsequent cabinets in sequence.
- Due to the weight of LED display cabinets, two people should handle them during transportation.
- When installing cabinets, handle them with care to prevent damage to the LED lamps.
- Maintain safety precautions throughout the entire installation process.
